Stegner:
Germany has had a supermodel for every decade since the
80's. When you think supermodels you can't go without thinking
the two biggest German supermodels. Well now as we are about
to soon enter a new decade we will have a third model to
add to Germany's famous two.
Years from now when we think of Claudia Schiffer and Heidi
Klum, Julia Stegner will also be included in that exclusive
German supermodel mix.
Just think in the explosive extravagant supermodel era
of the 80's when Claudia Schiffer was walking the runways
to George Michael's Freedom, Julia Stegner was just barely
a baby.
When Heidi Klum first wore her wings as a Victoria's Secret
Angel, Julia Stegner wasn't even a teenager yet.
Well as fashion history repeats it's self such as 80's
fashions popping up on the runways this season, so will
modeling history repeat it self as German supermodel Julia
Stegner's ongoing career from this millennium into the
2010s.
Julia
was born in Munich Germany , 1984.
Stegner is known as the young model Victoria's
Secret model, but her modeling career began at a much
much younger age. Stegner was a successful child model
for seven years doing ad campaigns and television commercials.
One of her favorite pass times is basketball. In highschool
she fell involve with the sport and with her 5'11 height
she was one high scoring beauty. She earn the nickname
"Bean Bar" from her highschool classmates because
of her then supermodel height in the making.
At
the age of fourteen Stegner was celebrating Octoberfest
with her family in Munich when she was spotted talent
scout because of her tall slender body and photogenic
face.
Education has always been important to Julia so she continued
her studies in highschool holding off becoming a full
time model until she was done with school. She had also
planned to study accounting when she was done with highschool.
However when she was done with highschool Julia decided
to give her modeling career a try so she moved to Paris.
In
Paris 2002 she signed with Supreme Management and within
just a few months she launched her professional modeling
career in a huge way by landing her first cover for French
Elle magazine. Very shortly after than in February 2003
she opened the 2003 Yves Saint Laurent show. That May
marked another mile stone for Julia when she was photographed
by Patrick Demarchelier for a British Vogue editorial.
By
the end of 2004 Julia had a modeling resume' as veteran
supermodel in just her short career having appeared on
dozen of fashion magazine covers and countless editorials
and advertisements for designers such as Dolce & Gabbana,
Ralph Lauren, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Anna Sui, Valentino,
Gucci, and Versace.
She went on to walk the runways of every major fashion
house. In 2004 was her first appearance in the Victoria's
Secret catalog. Then a she got her Angel Wings as she
walked her first runway at the 2005 Victoria's Secret
fashion show.
She signed a contract with Maybelline as the newest spokesperson
in 2007 which went on to do many magazine advertisements
and television commercials.
She
left Women Management in New York and Milan, and signed
with IMG models in 2008.
Recently this year she became the face of Mercedes Benz
and was a huge part of the launch of Mercedes Benz fashion
week in Berlin.
Julia
Stegner amazing career has earned her a tiara such as
the two other great German supermodels before her and
we will see a lot more still to come from Julia at age
25 this Nov 4, she has accomplished so much in the modeling
world. Yet as her child modeling career, she's still a
baby in her supermodeling career.
