 It
all started out as L.C. from the O.C.
Lauren's public life began as a teen reality star on MTV's
reality show Laguna Beach: The Real O.C.
After
graduating from highschool Lauren left the city that the
hit series was named after to attend college in San Francisco.
The series Laguna beach had only aired for one season
before Lauren graduated from highschool. During the second
season Lauren returned home after one semester away at
college to attend a local college.
It was soon after that when Lauren wanted to explore her
love for fashion design that she would go on to transfer
to Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
It
was then the move that would make Lauren a mega star and
launch her own mega reality show the Hills. The
first season of The Hills premiered in 2006, the show
documents Conrad's work at Teen Vogue along with her life
and the lives of her friends.
Since
the launch of Lauren's internship at Teen Vogue, The Hills
has been credited with improving sales of Teen Vogue.
It was reported in March 2007 that, since the second season
The Hills began airing, newsstand sales for Teen Vogue
magazine increased by double digits over 2006 sales.
When
Lauren was done with her internship at Teen Vogue she
began working for Kelly Cutrone at the People's Revolution
alongside fellow The Hills star Whitney Port.
In
January 2007, Conrad was named the first official spokesperson
of "mark.", a line created by Avon and marketed
toward young women.
She
has also developed a new fashion line Lauren
Conrad. The line debuted at Mercedes
Benz LA Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in March 2008.
It
was recently announced that she will author a three-book
young adult series based on her own life. The first book
will soon be published by HarperCollins.
So
with a hit TV series, AVON spokes model, national spokesperson
for College Tonight, and her new fashion line. We will
continue to see much more of Lauren Conrad. She has been
on countless covers of Teen magazines through out the
years and now makes her rise to super covermodel for this
month issue of Cosmopolitan. At just the young age of
22 we can expect to she a lot more from Lauren Conrad
in the fashion industry for years to come.
