Theron:
Charlize,
was born and raised on a farm in Benoni South Africa.
She trained as a ballet dancer since the age of six and
began a modeling career at age 16. Charlize was in her
teens when she was soon sent to Milan Italy for photo
shoots. Then at the age of 18 Charlize moved to New York
on her own.
She
continued her modeling career working modeling jobs when
she could land them and taking bread from restaurants
when work was thin. She was accustomed to the South African
climate so to get over her woes of the cold and wet New
York winters, She would attend New York's Joffrey Ballet
school. The love for dance was Charlize childhood passion.
However, a knee injury ended her chances at becoming
a dancer and that was when Charlize decided to head to
Hollywood.
 Charlize
travel to Los Angeles to give the acting thing a try.
Still only 18, struggling and starving, things were off
to a slow start for the dancer and model that now wanted
to become an actress. Times were not the best for Charlize
just trying to the get by, and to make matters worst she
got in to an argument with a bank manager that refused
to cash her check. However, is was that fight with the
bank manager that would soon change Charlize life.
While
arguing with the bank manager, a Hollywood agent noticed
Charlize. She caught his eye with her loud out burst,
stunning beauty, and towering height. That was the big
break she ever so needed to get discovered, and eight
months later she landed her first job.
Charlize
first movie was "Two Days in The Valley." However,
it was the movie "The
Devils Advocate"
with Keanu Reeves when people really started to take notice
of Charlize. Since then she has appeared in many other
hit movies such as Sweet
November,
The Cider House Rules, Reindeer Games,
The
Legend of Bagger Vance
,
The
Italian Job,
and Aeon
Flux
.
However,
it was in the 2003 that she won her her first Academy
Award for the dramatic and power performance for her role
in Monster, that has now made her part of the Hollywood's
elite actresses. In 2005 Charlize stared in the futuristic
sci-fi thriller titled Aeon Flux, which had her
staring as the action hero that is based on from MTV's
1991 animated shorts.
This
month she co-stars along side Tommy Lee Jones and Susan
Sarandon in the drama thriller In
the Valley of Elah
that is getting rave reviews.
She
has also just been signed to be the face of Dior's fragrance
named J'Adore, which she is receiving around $5 million
for a three year contract.
