Mandy Moore was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, and raised in Orlando, FL.
As a child Mandy loved performing, she loved the entertainment aspects of showbiz.

At the age of six her family took her to see a production of the musical Oklahama, from that moment on Mandy was taken away by how much she loved the singing and acting that she saw from the lead girl, and from that moment on Mandy knew what she wanted to do with her life.

At a young age Mandy started singing and acting when she attended a summer musical theater camp. Her passion for singing and acting led her to take voice lessons and auditions for plays at local theaters. With the help and support of her devoted parents, Mandy went on to star and co-star in many local plays.

She also performed as a cheerleader for Pop Warner football for seven years. However, Mandy's first little fame to stardom began when she was nicknamed "National Anthem Girl" because she sang The Star-Spangled Banner for so many sporting events.

Her appearances soon lead to voice overs as "Ducky" for the Universal Studios and to national television commercials. Mandy's career has not only been about her music, her first modeling job was for a Mexican teen fashion magazine and soon to follow the spokes model for Neutrogena.

Mandy's first music break came when she was recording a theme song for a TV pilot when a producer heard her singing voice and offered her chance to work on a music demo. At the age of 14 she signed a record deal with Sony's Epic Records. That led to her first album So Real, released on December 7, 1999.

Mandy went on to release four best-selling albums: her 1999 platinum debut, So Real, which included the smash single, "Candy," and three huge follow-ups; the 2000 Special Edition album, I Wanna Be With You; 2001's Mandy Moore and the soundtrack to her 2002 hit film A Walk To Remember.

In 2003 Mandy released the album " Coverage" which was a flash back to older songs from the past, and was something that Mandy wanted to produce and do all on her own under her own terms. In 2004 she released her sixth album title " Best Of " and is still currently work on another soon to be released.

So with her young music career on track and even toured with such popular acts as The Backstreet Boys and N'SYNC. Mandy still had hopes and dreams of being on stage, she still wanted to act.

She appeared in the hit movie The Princes Dairies, which then led her to a staring role in the 2002 hit film A Walk To Remember, which she got rave reviews and won a MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance. Soon after that she stared in such movies as How to Deal, Chasing Liberty, Saved, and the voice as Sandy in the 2005 film Racing Stripes.

Mandy has done what many teen popstars have tried to do, and that is crossover from music to movies. However, she has accomplished her career goals, not like others such as Britney Spear's that have tried and failed. Mandy has both the talent to sing and act. She is still working hard on her music with a new CD in the works, she has also launched her own clothing line Mblem . As of her acting career she stared in American Dreamz this past April, she has a upcoming movie and is currently filming independent movie called Dedication. Unlike many young popstars that have come and gone, Mandy Moore is here to stay and we will continue to see much more from Mandy Moore in the future.
