Mischa
is known for her role on Fox's Television hit show the
O.C. .She plays the role of Marissa Cooper, the typical
all American spoil girl from Orange County with real problems
such as divorced parents, a mother that is sleeping with
her ex-boyfriend, having a relationship with her buddy's
lesbain girlfriend, and all the typical high school teenage
problems. However, Mischa real life is so much opposite
of the character she plays on The O.C. She is 18 years
old and the youngest of the cast on the show, but the
similarities from her character stop there.Mischa is not
even American, She was born in London, England. Her father
is English and former foreign exchange broker and her
mother a Irish photographer. In 1991 her family moved
to the United States and settled in New York.
Mischa
began her acting career at the young age of eight years
old. She was spotted by a talent agent while performing
a show in summer camp. She soon began landing roles off-Broadway,
and shared the stage with such big names as Marisa Tomei
and was credited with rave reviews for her performances.
In 1994, she became a recurring character on the soap
opera All My Children which she did for 3 years.
When
Mischa started her teen years her beauty started to show
just as equally as her acting talents shines. The prestigious
Ford Modeling Agency notice her beauty and signed her
as one of their top teen models. She went on to modeled
for Calvin Klein for their famous black and white CK ad
campaigns, as well as modeled for Gitano, and Vogue just
to name a few.
However,
even with the excitement of her modeling career Mischa
still stuck to her love for acting. In 1997 she made her
movie debut, in the film Lawn Dogs which was a Sundance
hit, the role made her an indie film starlet which led
to other movies huge block buster movies such as The
Sixth Sense and Notting Hill. Mischa went on
to co-star in the films Skipped Parts, Paranoid,
and Tart. In 2001 she starred in Lost and Delirious,
a film that explored lesbianism at a private boarding
school.
Mischa
just didn't stick to the big screen, she also had a recurring
role in the critically-acclaimed ABC show Once and
Again, which air from 2001 to 2002. However it's the
Hit O.C. that has made MIscha a teen superstar.
Mischa
is keeps her self busy even with the show The O.C. , Mischa
does college prep work by correspondence with Manhattan's
Professional Children's School and will go to college,
she has aspirations to attend Yale when she has time to
work college in with work.
So even with the hit show and her studying for college,
she can now be seen on Neutrogena print ads and in Enrique
Iglesias's newest steamy music video Addicted.
At
only 18 years old Mischa has accomplished a lot in her
career, and this is only just the beginning of a lot of
things to come from this teenage star.
