Jennifer
Aniston was born in Sherman Oaks, CA, but she spent most
of her youth in New York. Jennifer and her family moved
to Greece for a year in her childhood years until her
father was called back to the states for an acting job.
Jennifer was raised around show business, her father is
actor John Aniston, a star of the NBC soap Days of Our
Lives, and her Grandfather is famous actor Telly Savalas.
While living in The Big Apple at the age of 11 Jennifer
attended Rudolf Steiner School drama club. The school
provides children with an extensive background in the
creative arts, and in addition to acting. Jennifer also
studied painting at the school and one of her paintings
was displayed at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Jennifer attended New York's prestigious High School of
the Performing Arts in her teens and graduated in 1987.
She soon began working off-Broadway shows. However, it
was two years later in 1989 when she made her television
debut on the series Molloy. She then acted in a few short-lived
sitcom series including Ferris Bueller, The Edge, and
Herman's Head. Jennifer went on to a few guest appearances
in other sitcoms aswell.
Then in 1994 her career made a drastic change when she
audition for a upcoming show on NBC called
Friends.
Jennifer landed the role of Rachel Green, the sexy coffee
drinking waitress. The show has been one of NBC's greatest
hits for years, putting it up there with the big ones
for their time like Cheers. Friends,
launched Jennifer's career and turned her into major star
and sex symbol, her hairstyle inspired a national fad
in the 90's and is still one of the most desired hair
styles today. The show had its final 10 year season that
ended in 2004, but Jennifer can stay smiling all the way
to the bank seeing how she was paid a cool 1 million per
show, along with winning a Emmy as best actress in a Comedy
for 2003.
Her
huge popularity landed her roles in many romantic movie
comedies in the mid 90's. Her first appearance on the
big screen came in 1996 in the movie She's the One. She
then went on to staring roles in Picture
Perfect, 'Til There
Was You , The Object of My Affection, Rock
Star, The
Good Girl, Bruce
Almighty,
and Along
Came Polly .
Jennifer's
latest film, soon to be released this November, is a suspense
thriller title
Derailed,
in which she co-stars with Clive Owen. Then next month
on December 25th she will have another movie release titled
Rumor Has it
, a zany comedy whom she will be co-staring with Kevin
Costner and Shirley Maclaine.
Jennifer
has been keeping very busy since the last filming of her
hit show Friends in 2004. She has two movies coming out
just in time for this holiday season, one out in 2006
titled Friends With Money, and she is currently
shooting a movie called The Break-up.
Jennifer had a busy year, her public break-up with ex-husband
Brad Pitt running off with actress Angelina Jolie was
a media frenzy. However, she kept her chin up, held herself
together, and now has that hollywood sweet revenge with
two new movies coming out soon, a few planned for 2006,
and many more lined up for shooting.
She
is one tough cookie that has stayed focus on her career,
having her heart publicly broken with the media to do
the whole tell all story of Jen and Brad has not stop
Jennifer from following her dreams.
