Carolyn
Murphy:
This Florida beach girl didn't intend on modeling during
her childhood. However, after encouragement from her mother
she enrolled in modeling school
.
Soon after she gained recognition,
and was taking on local modeling jobs and attending modeling
conventions. It was at a convention when an agent spotted
Carolyn, that would soon change her life. In what seemed
like a blink of an eye, Carolyn was off modeling modeling
in Paris and New York.
In 1998 Carolyn was named model of the
year at the VH1 Fashion Awards. She then went on to appear
on the cover of
Vogue's "Models of the Millennium" (November 1999) issue
as a rising model of the new millenium.
She is well known in the modeling industry for her chameleon
look. Carolyn can change her hair from redhead, blond,
or brunette, to long or short. She is a model that
can always transform to a certain look that is needed
for the shoot.
Having a chameleon look, Carolyn
has done countless fashion magazine covers.
Her modeling
portfolio includes work for
DKNY, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Valentino,
Givenchy, Fendi, Moschino, and Gucci.
Like many models before her, Carolyn
gave the acting thing a try and in 1999 she made an appearance
in Barry Levinson's film, Liberty Heights
. The director was looking to cast someone with
a Grace Kelly appeal, and with Carolyn's chameleon look,
she was perfect for the part.
This supermodel beach girl while
married to a professional surfer made one of the biggest
waves in the modeling industry this past year, when
she signed as the new face of Estee Lauder. She
replaced the famed Liz Hurely as the new Estee
Lauder spokesmodel. Estee Lauder is a company
that only uses one model for their cosmetic ad campaigns.
The company's spokesmodel is considered the super of
supermodels so this was big a deal. According to American
Vogue: "Estée Lauder don't just have cover girls,
they launch legends".
